During an interview with American Songwriter earlier in the year I mentioned an unreleased Dolorean track that was based on a famous C.M. Russell cowboy painting. We’re pleased to release “Disputed Trail” through our friends at Patagonia Music. It’s an exclusive song for Patagonia Music Collective – Volume 3 on iTunes with all proceeds from our track going to 5 Gyres Institute. 5 Gyres is an organization dedicated to researching and spreading the word about the five separate oceanic gyres that have become massive collections of plastic and garbage. This group of researchers and activists are dear to my heart and I hope that this partnership can help raise a bit of money and LOTS of awareness about a global issue that affects us all locally. Many thanks to Patagonia, who not only makes a great pair of fishing waders, but cares enough to connect the dots on projects like this. Please help spread the word about this new music and the important environmental causes it supports.

This is one from the no-brainer department. $15.00 gets you booze, biscuits and bands. All proceeds go to some great organizations – Mercy Corps and Sisters Of The Road. Fabulous music all day, our set starts around 8 PM.

Live Wire Radio has invited Dolorean to perform this Saturday, May 14th at The Alberta Rose Theater. Tickets are still available to be part of the live studio audience. The podcast for Live Wire Episode 45 (May 18, 2007) contains two live Dolorean tracks from You Can’t Win.

Dolorean’s Jay Clarke has for many years been moonlighting around the Northwest (and the globe) as composer Ash Black Bufflo. After years of composing modern dance scores and an epic soundtrack for prize winning documentary Marwencol, his first release – Andasol comes out on May 25th via Knitting Factory Records. The track “Buho” is streaming below.
Also, for those in the Portland area, long-time Dolorean favorites Hand2Mouth Theatre are re-visiting their show Uncanny Valley (with original musical compositions by Ash Black Bufflo) at the Artists Repertory Theatre. For 15% off tickets enter the code “H2MDolorean” when purchasing tickets here through May 18th.
